ICT can support the roles of the educator Unit 3 Activity 2

I can see that I am the lifelong learner so I fall under the scholar role. I am always learning something thing new and trying to implement it into my class. Any time that there is training or workshop going on I am interested. I know that I like to keep my mind active.

The teaching techniques that I currently use are discussion, direct instruction, discovery and presentation by teacher.

·        I can update my discussion by using a projector to project an image to stimulate my students’ interest and then lead them into a discussion.

·        Direct instruction can be updated my using computers and video to demonstrate how something is done.

·        Discovery learning can allow my students to utilize the computer, internet, and books to discover information.

·        Presentation by teacher can be updated by allowing the students to create a presentation based on the information that they discovered.

Unit 3 Activity 1 Reflection

In this unit it was discovered that many persons have preconceptions of what ICT is but many of these ideas are myths and not facts. ICT deals with Information Communication Technology and it is continuously evolving. It is not isolated but it allows for learning, communication and the use of technology to take place. In the process of completing this unit we looked at creating rationales for education. I believe that a set of goals must be set before we integrate technology into or classrooms. We must understand what we want to achieve with the use of technology as educators.
